HYDERABAD, June 12: Departmental heads must play their role in academic activities for improving the quality of higher education, says the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui.

The VC said this while addressing heads of teaching centres, institutes and departments on Tuesday.

Meeting discussed ways and means to speed up procedure of semester examination and declaration of results within the stipulated period as was decided by the deans. Deans of faculties, registrar and controller of examinations also attended the meeting.

The VC emphasized the need to submit results at controller's office, immediately after examination. He said academic heads must suggest measures for conducting examination on time and declaration of results as soon as possible.

The VC said in next academic session, the number of students will increase therefore it was important to take proper steps for assessment of answer sheets of semester examinations.
