ISLAMABAD, June 11: Pak Oman Micro-finance Bank has launched its mobile banking operations from Tando Allahyar in rural Sindh in collaboration with the National Database Regulatory Authority (Nadra).

Hundreds of people gathered at the village site on Monday to welcome the special mobile van.

Through the mobile van, the bank offered services of operating new and current accounts on the spot, cash deposit and withdrawals and investment in certificates of deposits.

The objective of the mobile banking service in rural areas is to bring the modern banking services at the doorstep of those who are deprived of such facilities.

Ozair A Hanafi, president and CEO of the bank said, “Pak Oman Micro-finance Bank has once again taken a bold initiative in offering banking service to the rural population at their doorsteps, making it convenient to people, who do not have access to reach the city centres.”

Tando Allahyar, Usman Shah and vegetable market at Khawaja Stop were selected as target parameters where substantial number of transactions took place throughout the working week without any banking facility.

In addition, the bank mobile staff will also be visiting the nearby villages to provide the banking facility.—APP
