Air travel tax rates announced

ISLAMABAD, June 10: The government has announced air travel tax (ATT) rates for international passengers.

The new rates will be applicable on services provided to air passengers embarking on international journeys to or from Pakistan. The exemption for passengers coming from abroad has been withdrawn in the budget for 2007-08.

For the passengers embarking to or from the Saarc region, the UAE (Middle East), Saudi Arabia, Africa and Afghanistan, the rate of tax will be Rs3,200 per ticket for economy and economy plus classes. However, for club, business and first classes the rate will be Rs4,200.

For the passengers embarking to or from Europe, Far East, China, the US, Canada, Australia, South America and other destinations, the rate will be Rs4,200 for economy and economy plus classes. In the case of club, business and first classes, the rate will be Rs5,700 per ticket.
