HYDERABAD, June 9: The Chief Engineer Irrigation, Kotri barrage Hyderabad has announced on Saturday that due to absence of rains, shortage of water was being experienced in all the barrages of Indus including Kotri barrage. He said at the head works of Kotri barrage, this shortage will continue for 20 to 25 days.

He said to meet the water shortage, water rotation programme will be carried out in all the off-taking canals of the barrage with effect from June 11.

He has appealed to the growers of Kotri barrage command area to cooperate with the irrigation department and ensure that no water goes waste.

He assured the growers that as soon as more water was available in the system, irrigation water will be supplied to the growers according to their requirements.
