ISLAMABAD, June 5: The government will file a petition in the Supreme Court in a couple of days against lawyers for violating the apex court’s orders and for allegedly giving derogatory remarks against the military and former judges at the May 26 seminar.

“It has been decided to pursue the matter and a petition will be submitted in the Supreme Court shortly,” interior ministry’s spokesman Brig Javed Iqbal Cheema said on Tuesday.

He told reporters in a briefing that the government was determined to protect the sanctity and dignity of national institutions.
