KARACHI, June 5: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has appealed to the federal minister for information and the electronic media regulator to take notice of the ban on transmissions of private television channels, and resolve the issue with mutual understanding.

In a statement issued from London on Tuesday, convenor Muttahida Coordination Committee Dr Imran Farooq said that his party believed in freedom of expression and it had time and again raised the issue of implementation of the seventh Wage Board Award in the National Assembly.

He said the managements of print and electronic media should adopt impartial means to avoid complaints from any party.Meanwhile, in another statement, the coordination committee termed the victory of Haq Parast candidates in Jamshed Town by-elections as a defeat for the people spreading negative propaganda against the MQM.
