LAHORE, June 2: A man allegedly clubbed his 22-year-old wife to death over a domestic issue in Shahdara on Saturday. Police said Rehana of Toba Tek Singh contracted love marriage with her cousin Rafiq about eight months ago.

The newly wed couple left their native town as their families were not happy with their marriage and rented a house in Shahdara.

They had a quarrel with each other over some domestic issue and Rafiq attacked Rehana with a club. She was rushed to hospital by her neighbours where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police have shifted the body for autopsy and lodged a case against Rafiq on the complaint of the deceased’s brother Akhtar.

ACCIDENT: A woman was crushed to death by an unidentified speedy vehicle in the Factory Area on Saturday.
