DADU, June 1: The EDO health has ordered an inquiry into death of four infants in the Civil Hospital late on Thursday night allegedly due to doctors’ negligence. The four-month old babies of Mohammad Urs, Razi Khan, Zulfiqar Ali and Koonj died in the hospital as doctors and hospital staff was absent when their condition became serious. in and Zulfiqar Ali demonstrated at the main gate of the hospital.

Mohammad Urs said that there were no doctors and qualified staff to provide oxygen when his baby’s condition worsened.Nizamuddin Soomro said death of one or two new born babies every night had become routine as doctors remain absent from their duties.

Civil Surgeon Dr Ghous Ali Shah said doctors tried to save the babies but as their condition was serious they could not survive.

The EDO health, Dr Dhani Bux had constituted a four- member committee to probe the death of four children in the Civil Hospital.

COMPLAINT: A woman, Zohra resident of Sindhi Butra village has complained against the eye surgeon of Civil Hospital for conducting wrong operation.

She told journalists on Friday that she had a problem in right eye but the doctor operated her left one. Her husband, Ashraf Ali alleged that Dr Gulzar told him to get his wife operated at a private hospital but on his refusal he carried out operation of wrong eye.

Dr Gulzar denied operating the eye of Zohra.
