RAWALPINDI, May 25: Additional District Session Judge Mohammad Iqbal Malik on Friday awarded death sentence to a person on two accounts for killing two teenagers 16 months ago in the jurisdiction of the Waris Khan police station.

The convict, Sheikh Abid, will also have to pay Rs100,000 to the heirs of two brothers — Adil Ahmed (19) and Haider Ali (17) — who were shot dead in Mehmood Ali Shah Mohallah.

A brawl took place among some boys who were playing cricket and Sheikh Abid taking the side of one group killed the two teenagers.

Two accomplices of the convict are still at large and have been declared proclaimed offenders by the court.

The mother of the deceased talking to mediapersons said her other two teenaged sons had been implicated by police in a robbery case just to oblige the killer.

The family of the murderer has been pressuring her to withdraw the case and if she cooperates with them they would help her in securing her sons’ releasing, the old woman said with tears in her eyes.
