MINGORA, May 22: A radical cleric has signed an agreement with the local administration to not to use his FM station for propaganda purposes. After the agreement, paramilitary forces ended their week-long siege of the Imam Dheri locality.

The agreement was signed on Monday night by Swat District Coordination Officer Syed Javed and Maulvi Fazlullah.

According to the agreement, Maulana Fazlullah would not oppose polio vaccinations and female education in his sermons over the radio channel, officials said, adding that the cleric had agreed also not to propaganda against the government.

The signing ceremony held at the village was attended by the district nazim, provincial ministers and senior police officials.
