QUETTA, May 19: Governor General of Iranian Province of Sistan Dr Habibullah Dhamardha has assured Pakistan business community of resolving all problems currently hampering bilateral trade between the two countries.

Addressing the members of Balochistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) here on Saturday, he said that joint efforts were needed to streamline the trade.

He said that Pakistani traders and businessmen were facing some difficulties due to changes in the rules and regulations in Iran. However, he would urge his government to take steps for removing these problems for the promotion of trade between the two countries.

Dr Dhamardha said the Iranian government was planning to improve rail and road networks which would not only curtail transit time but would also boost the trade volume between the two countries.

“Pakistan and Iran should make combine efforts for exploring more areas for enhancing economic cooperation and boosting investment in different sectors,” Dr Dhamardha observed. He also invited Pakistani businessmen to visit Sistan.

Earlier, BCCI President Javed Paracha apprised the Iranian governor general of the problems Pakistani businessmen and traders were facing in import and export with Iran.

He said that due to imposing various conditions by Iranian government the export of rice was almost stopped.

He pointed out that the cheques issued by Iranian businessmen usually bounced that delayed payments.

FPCCI former president Sardar Mohammad Ali Jogezai announced that a 40-member trade delegation would visit Sistan next month.
