HYDERABAD, Feb 28: The Hyderabad district government is going to undertake projects of water supply and sewerage worth Rs500 million.

District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman told Ms Ngui Ing Ing, vice president, Junior Chamber International, who called on him at the circuit house here on Thursday.

He said that the district government would organize a two-day seminar in April to discuss the social sector problems and improvement plans of the city.

He said that the seminar would be attended by diplomats, representatives of international donor agencies and NGOs besides officials of concerned government departments.

He asked NGOs to come forward and join hands with the district government to help improve the quality of the people’s life.

The office bearers of Hyderabad chapter of Junior Chamber agreed on the proposal of the district Nazim to jointly work out a plan to ease traffic problems of the city and to educate citizens for observing traffic rules.

Earlier, Ms Ing apprised the district Nazim of the purpose of her visit to Pakistan which will take her to other cities of the country.

She was full of praise for good work being done on various projects by different Junior Chambers and hoped that more young people would join the organization and work together to improve the life of common people.

Later, she presented the JCI souvenir to Makhdoom.

Later Ms Ing talked to the members of the Hyderabad District Bar Association.
