HYDERABAD, May 16: The Sindh directorate of town planning has warned builders and sponsors not to launch any housing scheme in the interior of Sindh without prior approval of the directorate, action will be taken for failing to do so.

It directed builders and sponsors to get layout plans of their housing schemes approved from the directorate before launching any scheme.

Town planning director Tahir Ahmed said in a statement that the Sindh government through a notification had empowered the directorate to get the Sindh Building Control Ordinance implemented in Nawabshah, Naushehro Feroze, Thatta, Jacobabad, Sanghar, Sukkur and Khairpur to discourage builders/sponsors from launching unauthorised housing schemes.

He said that it had been observed that the builders/sponsors left such housing schemes without laying infrastructure including roads and water and sewerage lines. As a result, he added, those people who booked plots or houses had to face a lot of difficulties.

He advised the people to avoid the booking of plots or houses in the unapproved housing schemes in their own interest.
