QUETTA, May 14: Four people were seriously injured in an explosion in the border town of Chaman on Monday. Police sources said that the trailer coming from Karachi was carrying two road rollers to Kandahar. When it was about to reach the Frontier Corps Fort a powerful explosion occurred in one of the road rollers, injuring four passersby and badly damaging the roller.

Police and other law-enforcement personnel arrived at the site of the explosion and took the injured to the Civil Hospital Chaman.

Sources said that two of the injured were Afghan nationals who were going towards the border. Police sources said: "An explosive device was found planted inside the road roller."

They said that the driver of the trailer, Najibullah, and another man had been taken into custody for questioning.
