PODGORICA (Montenegro), May 12: US tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams are interested in opening an elite tennis camp at Montenegro's patch of Adriatic coast, a daily newspaper reported on Saturday.

The Williams sisters are interested in buying a former military barracks in the coastal village of Kumbor, near the town of Herceg Novi, Vijesti daily said, quoting an unnamed source.

According to the report, the sisters' mother, Oracene Williams, has recently visited Montenegro to see herself the land and military complex abandoned by the tiny republic's army.

The 250,000-square-metre complex, which contains about a hundred buildings, is considered by tennis experts as ideal for the camp as Kumbor has the most sunny days per year in Montenegro, Vijesti said.—AFP
