OKARA, May 11: A large number of people protested on Friday night against police for killing an elderly rickshaw driver in custody and blocked roads by burning tyres and placing the body at Sikandar Chowk.

Eyewitnesses said the B-division investigating police arrested Fazal-i-Haq while buying a gambling scheme coupon on Samadpura Road and reportedly started thrashing him on the spot. They took him to police station.

But they denied that they took the rickshaw driver to the police station.
