HYDERABAD, May 11: The director of the Centre of Excellence in Arts and Design, Jamshoro, Prof Dr Mohammad Rafique Jhatial, is reported to have been removed from his post and sent back to his parent institution, the MUET.

University sources told Dawn on Friday that a letter had been received from the ministry of education Islamabad, relieving Dr Jhatial from the post and repatriating him to his parent institution. Sources further said that Prof Dr Bhai Khan Shar of the MUET had been posted as new director of the centre.

It may be recalled that the students of the centre had held demonstrations against Dr Jhatial.
