Tension at army farms

Published May 11, 2007

OKARA, May 10: Tension persisted here on Thursday as the military farms (MF) administration damaged the standing crops with the help of tractors to construct a boundary wall in village 11/4-L and 15/4-L and the tenants blocked Shahbore Road in protest. Hundreds of farms tenants rushed to the site armed with batons and rods. Seeing the situation, the construction was stopped and the tenants cleared the road and dispersed peacefully. The administration also left construction machinery at 15/4-L.

Later, the Anjuman Mazaraeen held a meeting in Chak 4/4-L and Abdul Sattar said tenants’ rights would be safeguarded at any cost.
