Abbasia canal breach

RAHIM YAR KHAN, May 9: A 200-foot-wide breach occurred in 3-R Abbasia Canal on Tuesday night near Chak 30, in Liaquatpur tehsil, washed away wheat, melon and fodder crops on hundreds of acres of land. Water also damaged many houses and people took refuse on the roofs of their houses.

Irrigation SDO and other employees reached there and suspended the supply of water from the head.

The residents of the area plugged the breach after several hours’ struggle.
