QUETTA, May 5: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that without formation of a grand opposition alliance the MMA would not quit the PML-led coalition government in Balochistan.

He strongly advocated formation of the alliance in order to launch a decisive political movement from a single platform to rid the nation of military dictatorship.

Talking to newsmen here on Friday, Maulana Fazl, who is secretary-general of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, claimed that PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto was opposing the formation of the grand alliance because she wanted to collaborate with the establishment.

He said that Benazir Bhutto’s statements had perturbed the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy, particularly the PML-N leadership, adding that such a situation would harm the opposition struggle.

He sarcastically said that the charter of democracy signed by two former premiers in London was now being turned into the charter of dictatorship.
