95 stalls at Faisalabad Expo

FAISALABAD, May 3: City District Nazim Rana Zahid Touseef inaugurated the third Faisalabad Expo at Bohranwali Ground here on Wednesday night. The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has organized the expo.

As many as 95 stalls of different products, including textile, building material, readymade garments, ceramics, chemical products, fashion jewellery, electronics, sports goods, general items, hand bags, surgical instruments and cosmetics, have been installed in the expo.

The event would continue till May 7 and only families are allowed after paying entry ticket of Rs10. Surveillance cameras have also been installed to keep an eye on wrongdoers. A heavy police contingent has also been deployed there to meet any eventuality.

Expo organiser Waheed Ramay said that the event would help boost country’s economy and promote products of local manufacturers. Some Chinese companies have also set up their stalls. He said some Thailand-based companies had also contacted us to take part in the expo but we refused them owing to the shortage of time.

This was the first time that the expo was being organized in an air-conditioned hall set up with the assistance of Chinese engineer. He said the expo would cost Rs7 million. He hoped that the expo would attract foreign investors to invest in Pakistan.

Shahid Ali, who visited the expo with his family, said that such event updated masses about the products of the country. Besides, it also provided an opportunity to purchase different products under one roof at reasonable rates, he said. — Staff Correspondent
