ISLAMABAD, May 2: The Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) submitted on Thursday a privilege motion on a news report saying that Sialkot district nazim had misbehaved with National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain.

According to ARD’s Izhar Amrohvi, the report in an Urdu daily said that the nazim had tried to manhandle the speaker during a public meeting on April 27.

He said that the report had shocked parliamentarians who wanted to bring it to the notice of parliament.

The motion sought to be moved by Aitzaz Ahsan, Khwaja Mohammad Asif and Tehmina Daultana and others, says: “The report has shocked the parliamentarians as well the general public that a man of such status has been treated in this manner.

“This amounts to a breach of privilege of the National Assembly and the matter needs to be discussed in the house committee for privileges.”
