HYDERABAD, April 30: The Pakistan Study Centre of the University of Sindh has published a book titled ‘‘Genesis of Fiscal Relations in Pakistan: A Critique in International and Historical Perspectives.’’

The book is economist Professor Ghulam Hussain Khaskhelly’s thesis on “Inter-governmental fiscal relations in Pakistan - the concept and consequences of dependence".

Professor Khaskhelly in his book suggests reducing the provinces’ dependence on the centre to ease tensions among federating units.

Professor Khaskhelly explains the concept of dependence and deals with distribution of functions and revenues in a federation in general and in Pakistan in particular, and amylases the division that exists in Pakistan.—Bureau
