NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 29: A group of people staged a sit-in on the National Highway near Noorpur, burnt tyres and blocked the road for about two hours to protest the arrest of three people from Ibrahim Mallah village on Sunday.

They complained that police arrested Misri Mallah, his two sons Ali Gohar and Mujtaba from their house without any reason.

The police reached the area and assured the protesters about a thorough probe into the matter after which the protesters dispersed.

When contacted, the Naushahro Feroze police said that Misri and his two sons were arrested following foot prints and also recovered one Kalashnikov rifle, gun and a pistol from their possession.

STRIKE: A shutter down strike was observed in Kandiaro to protest non-registration of an FIR against attack on a hotel in Shahi Bazar on Sunday.

Around 200 people, including shopkeepers, citizens and activists of political parties, took out a rally and staged a sit-in opposite Mukhtiarkar office. A shutter down strike was also observed.

The protesters led by the General Secretary of Shopkeepers Association and others said that the SHO of Kandiaro was not registering an FIR against the accused who attacked the hotel of Siddique Soomro on Saturday night and injured three men. The protesters raised slogans against SHO Kandiaro and demanded his immediate transfer.
