KARACHI, April 27: Eight ships carrying, containers, chemicals and to load rice are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where seven vessels were berthed. They are: Gulf Power to load cement, Nordtide, to offload coal, Calvin P Titus, and Oel Express to unload and load containers, Sargodha, to offload and load general cargo and Raya, to load cement.

Sailing was fairly active as a dozen ships departed, notable among them being Hayley Nadhi, Corin Thaikos, Y.M.Star, Hyundai Star, Global Prince, Nyzdan, Nova Sea, Hyderabad, Song Shan and Nazli-G.

Four others, Iron Butterfly, Huyutec, Iran Tabatabaei, and Oel Express are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total cargo volume of 82,457 tons, comprising 39,082 tons of export cargo, including 4,567 tons of rice, 2,448 tons of clinker, 5,228 tons of cement and 1,145 tons of wheat and 43,375 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday; Chemstar Brave, with chemicals, Oel Esteem, Bunga Kenari, Eric G.Gibson, Wan Hai-315, Kota Gunawan, and X-Press Resolve, with conainers and Aqaba Express to load cement.
