SHIKARPUR, April 26: Two persons were killed while two others sustained bullet injuries in an armed clash between two groups of farmers in Peroze Rind village in the Humayoon area on Thursday.

Abdul Nabi Rind and Shah Bux Rind were killed and Dhani Bux and Mazar were seriously injured in heavy exchange of fire. The motive behind the clash is said to be a dispute on a piece of agriculture land.

The police reached the place of incident and arrested five men, Haji Peroze, Abdul Qadir, Amir Bux, Abdul Shakoor and Mehmood. The police recovered one rifle and two shotguns from the arrested persons. No FIR was registered till filing this report.

BANDITS HELD: The Nabi Shah Wagan police have claimed to arrest two dacoits belonging to Mubeen Narejo gang after an encounter near Sain Dino chowk road on Thursday.

According to the police, they received information that five people were planning to commit a dacoity. A police party reached the spot. The dacoits on seeing the police opened fire to which they retaliated.

After an encounter, the police arrested two dacoits identified as Pyaro Narejo, resident of Izzat ji Wangh and Qurban alias Qurboo Jeho and recovered two Kalashnikovs and ammunition.

Their three accomplices fled on a motorcycle. The police also recovered one stolen motorcycle from the possession of the arrested dacoits.

Shikarpur DPO Zulfiqar Ali Larik told journalists that the arrested dacoits were involved in more than 50 crimes of kidnapping for ransom, murders and other crimes.
