KHAIRPUR, April 24: A peace rally was taken out by People’s Party Parliamentarians activists in Pir Jo Goth on Tuesday, demanding an end to tribal disputes in the Khairpur district.

The rally was led by local PPP leader Syed Zaman Shah Rashidi and participated by a large number of party workers, women and children. The rally started from Kingri Complex, marched through different roads of the town and terminated at Mohib Ali Chowk.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rashidi and others said that almost 10 tribal feuds were brewing in Kingri taluka for the last six years which had claimed several lives. The tribal disputes, they added, had adversely affected the social and economic structure of the area. Farmlands lay barren due to the disputes, they said, as fear did not allow people to go to the areas dominated by their rival communities.
