LAHORE, April 23: Fast bowler Shahid Nazir became the last cricketer to appear before the World Cup Performance Evaluation Committee (PEC) on Monday as the committee prepared to wind up its probe into Pakistan team’s poor show at the mega event last month.

"The committee has almost finished its work and is in the process of compiling its report that will soon be presented to the PCB chairman, Dr Nasim Ashraf," a spokesman of the committee said.

On Monday, the committee also listened to the views of Sialkot DCA secretary Saleem Sheikh and Dera Ghazi Khan District Association secretary, Ahmad Nawaz who gave their input towards improving the domestic structure of the game.

The committee, which held its first meeting on April 5, recorded the views of almost all the members of the Pakistan squad as well as some ex-Test cricketers and officials of the PCB including chairman Tauqir Zia.

However, ex-PCB chief Shaharyar Khan, Hanif Mohammad and Javed Miandad did not appear before the committee despite invitations and requests.
