KARACHI, April 22: Speakers at a demonstration on Sunday demanded that the army operation being carried out in Balochistan be called off and the mass scale killings and kidnapping of Baloch youth be stopped immediately.

The demonstration was organised by the Baloch National Party in front of the Karachi Press Club. Speaking on the occasion, the BNP leaders – Jahanzeb Baloch, Hameed Sajna and others – said that the federal government under a conspiracy was bent upon eliminating Balochs so that it could occupy their lands and take control of their natural resources.

The Baloch youth with their unity and struggle will defeat the oppressing forces and get their right to govern their land and take control of their natural resources, they added.

They also demanded that the BNP leader and former Balochistan chief minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal, who had been arrested under fabricated cases, be released immediately.

They also demanded that all the Baloch youth and Sardar Mengal’s 14 security guards who had been arrested along with him but had gone missing since then be released immediately.
