THATTA, April 21: Seven passengers, including two women and a child, were killed and 27 others injured when a Hyderabad-bound coaster (P-784) fell into a ditch between Ongar and Kotri on the National Highway on Saturday.

The cause of the accident is said to be the breaking of tie-rod of the coaster.

The deceased were identified as Ms Hajiani, Ms Ragi, Rehman, Dildar, 4, Allah Dino, 16, Dhani Bux and Gulzada. The bodies of five deceased were brought to the Rural Health Centre, Jherruk. The bodies of two women were taken away by their relatives to a nearby village.

The four seriously injured, one of them identified as Jan Mohammad Babbur, were taken to Hyderabad.

Other injured people included coaster driver Habibullah, Parveen, Zehra, Rakhial and Mataro.
