In the exchange of fire, one of the robbers was wounded while his accomplices fled. Police arrested him, recovered a TT pistol and shifted him to a hospital.

On interrogation, he identified himself as Ashiq Ali, hailing from Larkana. He told the police that he and his accomplices had reached the city the previous night to commit robbery. He said they had committed a robbery at the same house some 15 months back. They used to come here from their hometown for robbery and return with the loot.

Police claimed that one of the fleeing bandits also suffered a bullet wound. In the hunt for the absconding suspects, police asked all hospitals to inform them if anyone with bullet injury reported at the emergency ward.
