SIALKOT/GUJRANWALA, April 17: Police and intelligence agencies arrested three Double Shah’s agents in Sialkot, while Wazirabad police registered cases against 250 people for protesting Shah’s arrest.

Sources said National Accountability Bureau and secret agency officials also accompanied policemen in a raid to arrest agents of Sibtul Hasan, alias Double Shah, and arrested Ibrar Ahmad, Imtiaz Husain and Imran Ali in Model Town, Sialkot.

The agents had opened their office in a rented house of tea stall owner Mehr Nazir and collected money on behalf of Double Shah. Law enforcers seized Rs75.03 million from the agents and shifted them to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. More arrests were also expected today (Wednesday), official sources said.

Also, police registered cases against 250 people in Wazirabad for taking out protest rallies against the arrest of Double Shah and creating the law and order situation. Police nominated 150 people in the first information report and were raiding their residences to arrest them.

Double Shah’s supporters continued protests against his arrest in Wazirabad and its suburbs and demanded that the government release him as there was no complaint against him for usurping public money.

Ghakkhar police seized a Rs5 million vehicle of Double Shah and also launched crack down on his supporters to arrest them. Police arrested four more relatives of Shah in the town. Samina Gilani, daughter of Shah, alleged that her father had been implicated in kidnap for ransom and terrorist activities.
