KARACHI, April 13: A 65-year-old man was slaughtered in his house in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Friday. Police said an unknown murderer barged into the house of John William Bhatti, slit his throat and fled.

They said a murder case was registered on the complaint of victim’s 30-year-old son, Suneel Bhatti.

The complainant reported to the police that he was asleep at his first-floor room and woke up around 11:30am when he heard his father screaming.

He said he came out of his room and saw a man scuffling with his father downstairs. He said since he was wearing shorts, he returned to his room to change his dress. He said when he returned he saw his father slaughtered and the man fleeing the scene. The police said the victim was living in the house (R-N) in block-4 with his son, daughter-in-law and a five-year-old grandson.

They said the victim and his son were alone in the house as Suneel’s wife, a private school teacher, and his grandson were in the school.
