Hockey semis

KARACHI, April 12: Holder WAPDA, Army, PAF and host Sindh sailed into the semi-finals of the 30th National Games hockey competition after topping in their respective pools at UBL Sports Complex on Thursday.

On the final day of the league rounds, WAPDA defeated Police 5-4 while PAF beat Army 3-2.

In the women event at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium, Railways were held to a goal-less draw by fighting Balochistan.

WAPDA beat Punjab 2-1. Nilma and Azra Nasir netted the goals for winners while Madhya scored the lone goal for Punjab.

In another match, Shahrish banged home two goals as Higher Education Commission (HEC) beat Sindh 3-0. Bushra scored the other goal for winners. -—Agencies
