Mirpurkhas road inaugurated

MIRPURKHAS, April 11: In order to develop road network, the district government has begun work on it with the help of the provincial government. This was stated by the District Nazim of Mirpurkhas, Dr Sughra Junejo, while inaugurating a road in the UC Mirwah Gorchani on Wednesday.

She said the four kilometre long road was completed at an estimated cost of Rs11.105 million under the Annual Development Programme before ahead of its stipulated time.

DCO Mirpurkhas Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, EDO Revenue Abdul Rahim Soomro, EDO Works and Services Ghulam Mustafa, EDO Finance Ismail Langah, EDO Community Development Yousuf Gill, EDO |Agriculture Dodo Khan Leghari, elected representatives and officers were also present on the occasion.

The DCO said that the adult literacy programme for women at the UC level was being launched in the district soon. Ahsanul Haq, Nazim UC Mirwah Gorchani also spoke on the occasion.

Seminar: A seminar on `cultivation of crops’ was organised by the Agriculture Department on Wednesday to create awareness among the growers regarding cultivation of different crops.

It was held at the office of Taluka Nazim Sindhri. Those who spoke on the occasion included Nazim UC Kherao Maher Ali Lashari, District Officer Agriculture Extension Mirpurkhas Ghulamullah Jarwar, Chairman, Farmers’ Organization Council (FOC) Javed Junejo and others.

They said getting quality seed had become a problem and asked the Agriculture Department to take measures for the availability of quality seeds.

They asked the growers to remain in touch with the Agriculture Department for solution of their problems and advised them to obtain soil sample for better use of fertilizers and should sow certified seed of each crop for extra yield.
