KARACHI, April 11: The government reclaimed 300 acres land in Gadap Town from encroachers in an operation, carried out by the revenue department with the cooperation of Sindh Local Government Minister Muhammad Hussain and City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal.

This was stated by Sindh Revenue Minister Dr Irfan Gul Magsi while talking to newsmen, who accompanied him during his visit to the site.

Dr Magsi said the market price of the reclaimed land would be over billion of rupees. He said that besides heavy machineries, police and rangers services were acquired during the operation. He warned the land grabbers, who were threatening the officials of the revenue department of dire consequences for carrying out operation, that the government would not tolerate it and would ensure safety to life and property of the officials.

He said that 200 acres of the recovered land was located in Deh Emilano, Tappo Kathore. He said he had ordered to register FIR against encroachers including those who had occupied six acre precious land on the link road of Toll Plaza.

The minister said the operation was being carried out without any discrimination. According to the revenue rules, he said, if land was being utilised other than the specified aims, its lease could be cancelled any time by the revenue department.
