KARACHI, April 9: The Sindh Local Government Minister, Mohammad Hussain, has warned that slackness and negligence of duty will not be tolerated and disciplinary action will be initiated against them.

He ordered issuance of show-cause notices to all those staff of the Katchi Abadis Authority (KAA) who were not present during the minister’s surprise visit to the KAA office on Monday.

The minister, who is also chairman of the authority, reminded the officials that the KAA was a public service department and it was their responsibility to ensure availability of the staff so that people should not face hardships.

Mr Hussain also asked the field staff to sign the attendance register before leaving for their assignments.

A movement register should be maintained in the office so as to ensure presence of the officers at the place of their field work, he ordered.

Later, he also presided over a meeting of the officers of the authority and directed them to discharge their duties with utmost devotion and dedication.

Earlier, KAA Director-General Ali Ahmad Lund informed the minister about the working of various sections of the authority.

The minister also visited offices of the provincial local government commission and provincial transition wing.
