QUETTA, April 4: A police constable was killed and another critically injured when unknown men opened indiscriminate fire on a police pick-up in Killi Shabo, a locality in the outskirts of Quetta city, late on Wednesday night.

Police sources said the policemen, on routine patrolling, saw two armed men riding on a motorcycle trying to snatch a motorcycle from a man.

Constables Zakir Hussain and Hasan Ali rushed and tried to arrest motorbike snatchers but the robbers opened fire, killing a constable and critically injuring the other. The injured constable hospital has been admitted to civil hospital. After the firing, both assailants escaped from the scene.

ACCIDENT: Two men riding a motorcycle were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding passenger wagon in Kuchlak area. In a separate incident, a young boy named Saddam was killed when a truck hit a tractor in the same area. Three more people were killed in a road accident in the same area.

BUGTI TRIBESMEN: Two Bugti tribesmen were seriously injured in two different incidents on Wednesday.

Official sources said that Jangle Khan Bugti was seriously injured when he accidentally hit a landmine while working in a field in Denari Pat area of Sui.

In the second incident in Delar Pat area of Sui, a Bugti tribesman was injured when a rocket fired by unknown people hit the area where the man was sitting.

The injured were taken to civil hospital.

Meanwhile, a powerful explosion rocked Pasni area on Wednesday night. Some unknown people had planted a home-made bomb near the building of a TV booster. The bomb exploded, damaging a portion of the wall of the TV booster building.
