PESHAWAR, April 4: Promising cyclist Shazia Mubariq will carry the NWFP flag in the forthcoming National Games to be held in Karachi from April 9-14. This was stated by President of the NWFP Olympic Association, Syed Aqil Shah on Wednesday.

President and Secretaries of all the affiliated associations, officials and players were also present on the occasion.

Aqil said that Shazia has been given the honour to carry the NWFP Flag in the National Games because she made history by winning two gold medals and five silver medals in the Inter-Provincial Games in Lahore.

Aqil disclosed that 397 players including 86 females will be competing in 22 disciplines at the Games. He informed that NWFP will be hosting the Inter-Provincial Games in 2008 while the 31st National Games will be held in the province in 2009.—APP
