KARACHI, April 4: Six ships carrying containers and to load rice and cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Among the expected new arrivals, Victoria will load 4,000 tons of cement, while Asian Queen and Teen will load 20,000 and 39,000 tons of clinker respectively.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where two ships, APL Shenzhen and Y.M. Faha were berthed to load and unload containers after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Iran Tabatabaei, Independence Spirit, Norasia Alps, Biro Bong and Lalazar, while Y.M. Faha, APL Shenzhen, Raban-1 and Hyundai Highway are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 0.105m tons comprising 23,543 tons of export cargo and 81,209 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Rising One with crude oil, APL Dalian with containers and Benarita with 34,500 tons of steel scrap.
