KARACHI, April 2: Citizens visiting the Bagh Ibn-i-Qasim are facing various problems particularly poor security arrangements. Visitors complained that the park had virtually been captured by a number of rogue groups, which often tease visiting families and pass obnoxious remarks.

Though the park, inaugurated by President Musharraf, has been declared a ‘family park,’ however, several groups of youths wander the park without any resistance, a visit to the park revealed.

It was also learnt that several visitors have so far been deprived of their vehicles due to insufficient parking space. Some visitors also complained about mobile snatching outside the park.

They complained that the park administration and the police did not cooperate with them in case of any complaints. Instead of taking action against criminals, they seemed to protect them, they charged.

Citizens demanded the governor Sindh, chief minister, and city nazim take immediate action in this regard.—Online
