ISLAMABAD, March 31: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Women Development on Saturday expressed its concern over improper utilisation of budget, allocated for women development projects.

The Committee which met under the Chairmanship of MNA Begum Mehnaz Rafi, MNA in the Parliament House discussed the budget proposals and utilisation of funds for women development.

According to a press release, the Committee also took serious notice of the budget allocated for the Gender Reforms Action Plan (GRAP) and Women Centres, which had not been properly utilised according to the prescribed requirements.

However, the Committee recommended that the budget for next fiscal year may be increased.
