Witnesses said the clash started on Wednesday night between members of Mian Khan Said and Mian Mashoor groups over a land dispute in the Inzari Maidan area of Davazai.

Both the groups used heavy and light weaponry and fired mortar shells at each other’s positions. One of the shells hit the residence of Mohammad Afzal, a member of the Khan Said group, killing his wife and two daughters.

The injured were taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Khar.

After the intervention of tribal elders and administration a temporary ceasefire was brokered in the afternoon.

A tribal jirga is negotiating with both the warring groups for resolving the dispute.

Armed members of both the groups held their positions till the filing of this report.
