KARACHI: Hallaj remembered

KARACHI, March 29: Speakers at a meeting held to observe the 1118th death anniversary of Hussain bin Mansoor al-Hallaj at the Arts Council, called for deeper research on the life of the great sufi saint who sacrificed his life at the gibbet in Baghdad in 309 Hijri.

Nazir Ahmed Channa, coordinator and Yasmin Misbah, secretary of the Mansoor Hallaj Foundation organised the meeting in collaboration with the Arts Council on Thursday.

The speakers including Agha Noor Mohammad Pathan, Mahfoozul Nabi Khan, Aizazuddin Shah, Dr Ashiq Badvi and Sarwar Javed paid rich tributes to the great mystic poet-saint.
