HYDERABAD, Feb 25: The former employees of the Sindh Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) held a demonstration on Sunday in front of the press club to protest against the delay in the payment of their outstanding dues.

Their protest continued on Monday as well.

The SRTC action committee leaders — Harrison David, Syed Irshad Ali Shah, Syed Ahmad Ali Shah, Ghulam M. Dahir — and others said that there had been no response from the authorities concerned despite repeated protest demonstrations.

They asked the workers to gather before the action committee’s office on February to finalize the programme for holding a demonstration before the Sindh Secretariat on March 4. They claimed that the files of 24 employees had gone missing with the result that they had been deprived of their payment.

They warned the Sindh minister and secretary transport to ensure the payment of their dues otherwise they would accelerate the pace of their protest campaign as it was their legal and constitutional right.
