MARDAN, March 24: A faction of the Pukhtoon Students Federation (PkSF) staged a demonstration in front of the Mardan Press Club on Saturday to protest against the suspension of membership of some of their colleagues by provincial leadership.

The students demanded restoration of the suspended workers.

PkSF Provincial President Shakeel Barki has suspended the basic membership of provincial press secretary Tariq Afghan and provincial deputy general secretary Arbab Mirafzal.

PkSF’s Mardan chapter divisional president Akhtar Iqbal Yousufzai, district president Jawad Khan and district press secretary Naeem Baghdadi took part in the demonstration in front of the Mardan Press Club, rejected the decision of the provincial president and demanded the restoration of the suspended members of the student union.

They claimed that the provincial president had suspended the membership because of personal grudge.

They warned that if the suspended members were not restored, they would launch a province-wide movement against the provincial president of the PkSF, Shakeel Barki.
