Sea intrusion floods 30 villages

THATTA, March 20: High tide in the sea caused by strong winds inundated about 30 villages located along the coastal belt of the district near Keti Bundar and Kharochhan talukas on Tuesday.

The flooded villages include Gul Hassan Jatt, Bakhar Rachho, Hamzo, Dablo, Yousuf, Dabelo, Amir Jatt, Dando Shiwlani, Ibrahim Soomro, Aleem Marghar, Paryo Perozani, Kathiaro Mallah, Haji Abdullah Kharai, Yaqoob Faqirani, Haji Hassan Jatt, Haji Mir Mohammad Khaskheli and Usman Khalifo.

Villagers had to move to safer places on self-help basis in the absence of any help from the district administration.
