LAHORE, March 18: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has no intention to hold the captain, players, coach or selectors accountable for the debacle in the World Cup.

The PCB issued a press release over the dismal performance in which it only hinted about adopting a future strategy to improve the cricket structure, but there is no programme to deal with those, who were involved in the shocking ouster.

While commenting on the team's poor performance in the World Cup, the chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Dr Nasim Ashraf on Sunday expressed deep disappointment.

He pointed out that the Board and he himself were as disturbed over the result as the rest of the nation".

Dr Nasim said that having taken over as chairman of the ad hoc committee less than six months back he and other members of the Board had decided to maintain continuity and stability as the best option to strengthen the team.

Every effort was therefore made to achieve the same in the short term context.

He further added that as he had promised earlier, a comprehensive new structure and plan for the development of cricket in Pakistan would be launched after the World Cup".
