KARACHI, March 15: Top seed Maria Toor claimed the National Women’s Squash title on Thursday by outclassing Muqaddas Ashraf in straight sets in the final at the DHA Asif Nawaz Squash Complex.

Maria, the pre-tournament favourite representing Wapda in the Rs 100,000 event, lived up to the expectations and played an aggressive game to thrash her colleague 9-4, 9-0, 9-5 in only 13 minutes.

Later, Maria who did not lose a single game in the competition, received a winner's cash prize of Rs 20,000 along with the trophy while Muqadas walked away with runner's-up purse of Rs 14,000.

Sindh Sports Minister, Qamar Mansoor who was the chief guest in the final, distributed prizes among the participants. —PPI
