GHALLANAI, March 12: Shopkeepers observed a strike in the Yakka Ghund sub-division of the Mohmand Agency on Monday to protest against the suspension of power supply to the area.

They announced that all shops and businesses in the Yakka Ghund bazaar and adjoining areas would remain closed for three days. If the problem was not resolved by then, the shopkeepers would devise their future course of action.

The protesters said that authorities concerned had failed to restore power supply the Yakka Ghund bazaar for the past many months, badly affecting commercial and business activities in the area. They said power suspension had also created shortage of water in the area and because of this the people were facing great difficulties.

They demanded early restoration of power supply.
